Did you see the movie “Marley & Me”?

After I did, I went home and gave my Marley (AKA “Connor”) a

big hug and then took a few pictures… The first one was taken the

day my daughter Megan and I brought him home.  By the way,

it was taken in the same chair as the others! We still fight for

that chair!

I have a feeling that Yellow Labs will become a very popular breed

over the next few weeks and I can tell you from experience, they’re

one of the best dogs you could ever own!  :-)  Peaker

    Tom,

I didn’t see the movie, but I read the book a couple of years ago, and it was wonderful. Every dog love/owner will be able to relate to some aspect of Marley’s “antics.”

I have a 4 year old yellow lab (Buster) He’s always been a handful but I wouldn’t want it any other way - by the way, he weighs 117 pounds and likes to sit on my lap. I am looking forward to seeing the movie, I’ve read the book twice. I just think parents should be aware of the ending before taking young children….

I have a 2 year old Yellow Lab and she could have probably easily starred in the movie. I have not seen it the move bit I have read the book. Left alone, her objective is to destroy! When she is with me, she is the sweetest, gentlest, loveable dog. Labs are true companion dogs and want to pleae you (when you are watching). As with 101 Dalmations, people will be lured into getting a Yellow Lab as a pet, but I hope they stay through the whole movie (or book) and realize that as loveable as Labs are, they are very much in need of attention and training.

tom, i hate to break it to ya, but as a labrador retriever breeder, the yellow lab has been popular, as well as the black and chocolate, and the most registered AKC breed since 1991. yellows got a “bump” up in popularity when oprah had one on her show some years back, but you are right, they will get “more desired” since the movie, and, yes i had a tearful eye during the euthanasia scene, as i have gone through 5 of those.
